Endives with Groundbeef


8-10 heads of Endives   Clean the endive heads.  Cook until tender and drain thoroughly.  Saute the onions, garlic and beef in butter.  Add pepper, salt, and chopped parsley.  Place alternate layers of endives and beef in a casserole dish.  Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and dollops of butter.  Cover with a generous layer of grated cheese and place the dish in a warm over or under a pre-headed broiler until the cheese has melted and turned golden brown.
1 or 2 chopped green onions or shallots  
50 gram Butter  
1 clove of Garlic (optional)  
500g lean ground beef  
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley  
2 Tbsp. breadcrumbs  
100-200g aged cheese  
Salt & Pepper
